This was the Kindergartners first time in the Art Studio ever. They did a great job!
After reading a story about shapes, I showed the artists some cards with different shapes drawn on each. We spent some time discussing shapes, naming them, finding some.... and looking at the paintings of Wassily Kandinsky. We were pretty sure that Kandinsky knew how to play the shape game. Which is what we did next. Here's how: Each student takes a turn naming a shape then each one of us draws that shape someplace on our papers. After our papers were filled with shapes, we used pastels to color in our designs - Kandinsky-style. The next slide show features Kandinsky's work. The one after features our own. You're going to love them!
