Today we read a story about colors and shapes working together harmoniously.  It's a great story.  The illustrations are beautiful, clear and accessible to young artists.  After reading the story, we looked at some of the work of Henri Matisse and talked about how he might have created the images he made.  We thought one of the methods he might have employed was cut paper.
We used scissors, contact paper, construction paper, tissue paper and black permanent markers to create these luminous works of art.
